The AJB family expands!
We've welcomed two new members of staff to the business recently. Due to company growth and the need to have more men on the ground (and in the air!) we had been on the lookout for trainee tree surgeons with a passion for the outdoors, a great sense of humour and a strong work ethic. After a long day of interviewing recently we found the perfect pair! Tom has been with us for a couple of weeks now, coming from a background using machinery and a hunger to learn the ropes. Toby is completing his first week here with us having moved on from his part-time role, striving for a new career. Toby is a keen rock climber and he's already got the agility side of things under his belt. Our existing teams are delighted to have some 'fresh blood' on board and we're looking forward to progressing them through their [...]
Forestry First Aid For All – 1st May 2019
Health and safety is always at the forefront of our minds and in the work that we do on a daily basis. At the beginning of May the AJB Team attended and completed First Aid +F provided by the Lantra awarding body. We are delighted to say that all our operatives and managers comfortably passed the course. Additional peace of mind out on site and in the vans is always welcome. The course was informative and helpful and we’re all armed with the right, up to date skills and information should we ever need them in an emergency. Our next lot of training will be towards the end of the Summer for new members of the team. […]
CHAS and SMAS – 24th April 2019
Two accreditations in the space of one week and to say we’re proud of ourselves would be an understatement. We work incredibly hard to make sure that all the jobs we do are safe, efficient and to the highest standard. Safety of our staff, the customers and the environment we’re in is always top priority. This week we have gained our CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) accreditation and have been certified with SMAS (Safety Management Advisory Services). A great achievement for the business and hopefully one that leads us down many more exciting avenues in arboriculture.
Digging for tickets! – 15th April 2019
Adam and Paul have downed tools and swapped tree climbing and chainsaws for digging over a two-day course to achieve their 360 digger certification. We are delighted to say that both Adam and Paul passed with flying colours and are fully qualified with a National Plant Certificate to operate 1-10 ton diggers. As a company we aim to train our operatives to the highest standard in all areas of arboriculture and grounds maintenance. Great news to push forwards with the services AJB can provide. Now….back to the trees and chainsaw trousers!
